Действие игры разворачивается в далеком будущем на колонизированном человечеством Марсе, а геймер, управляющий отрядом солдат, обязан выяснить по какой причине одна из колоний не выходить на связь. В игре присутствует 8 классов: Штурмовик, Тяжелая Поддержка, Разведчик, Стрелок, Уничтожитель, Терминатор, Хеллфаир и Медик, ровно столько же игроков поддерживает кооперативный режим. По отзывам игроков, игравших в The Red Solstice в раннем доступе, игра не только хардкорная, и мало в ней просто выживать, необходимо быстро выполнять задания, если в последствии не хотите атомного взрыва или нашествия всяких тварей. К тому же здесь присутствует ко-оп, но Русскоязычный онлайн не так велик, посему приходиться кооперироваться со своим любимым пистолетом, оттачивая навык игры с ним. Также тут довольно большой арсенал, не с проста у каждого врага своя страница сопротивлений к разным типам урона.

Point of No Return: new gameplay mod, medals, multiplayer bots

As announced last week, we present you with our first major post release content update called The Point of No Return.
This update includes:
The “Capture Point” mode:
A completely new game mode for The Red Solstice where you have to secure important strategic points all over the map.
Points vary in difficulty and can award you with different buffs and supply drops that may even contain legendary items!
Face off against increased wave and enemy strength!
To survive this onslaught you’ll start out with an increased energy level.
Capture Point mode can be played in addition to other game modes, or completely by itself, where each match can take from 20-40 minutes.
This resulted in us removing the wave cap, thus ensuring that the Evac item can still be used after wave 15.
Medals:
You are now able to earn a wide range of medals (more to be added in future patches).
A lot of the medals are hard to earn and will require a serious amount of expertise.
Each medal that you earn will improve a certain portion of your character’s abilities.
Only the best marines are good enough to earn all the medals!
Multiplayer controllable NPCs, phase one:
You´ve asked for them, so here they are!
Free lobby slots can be filled with your Survival mode NPCs.
Each player can control up to three NPC.
You can freely switch between your Marines, use their skills, and manage their inventory!
Additional options for NPC behavior and control are under consideration and will be added in the future depending on user feedback.
Skill balance:
Due to the work we’re investing into the medal system, we’ve ended up balancing some of the skills and will continue to do so in the future
Demolition: Sentry drone will now shoot every 3 seconds (down from 7) while getting a 50% damage reduction (this results in an overall ~17% damage increase and a lot less overkill damage).
Assault: Precise module won´t reduce your health anymore and T1 sensors give a permanent bonus to your critical chance now.
Reduced grenade launcher skill delay from 0.5 to 0.1
Increased evasion on combat defense module to 5-25%
Recon: Universal locator will reduce speed by 50%,
Orbital targeting damage changed to 350-650
Seeker mine adds 35 damage to skill and item each level
Usability has 50% chance to give 1 additional item, or 5% to give 2 more stacks
Heavy Support: Suppressive fire changed, attack speed increases from 50-140%
Terminator: Nanite skills will no longer reduce any armor while transfering
Hellfire: Napalm wall consumes less ammo
