Chapter 4
Chapter 4 of the Campaign is here, with 7 more missions to cap it out! The maps are bigger, the challenges are harder, and it packs some diabolical surprises, including:
Adaptive Creeps: Each wave, these become highly resistant to one of your elements. Whatever tower tops the damage tracker for the wave, Adaptive Creeps will take 25% damage from that tower's element on the next wave.
Spawners: Every 15 seconds, it spawns 3 small creeps with 15% HP each. There is no cap on the number of creeps these can spawn, so kill them fast!
And 3 New Bosses!
New Upgrade Column in the Loadout. These are passive upgrades that can help bolster your defenses. Requires beating Chapter 2 before you gain access to them.
Income: At the end of each wave, gain 5% / 10% / 15% end-of-wave bonus.
Extra Lives: Start with 10% / 20% / 30% more lives.
Range Bonus: All towers gain 10% / 20% / 30% more range, but they cost 5% / 10% / 15% more gold.
AoE Bonus: All AoE towers gain 10% / 20% / 30% more AoE, but they cost 5% / 10% / 15% more gold.
Essence: Gain 1 / 2 / 3 Essence to be used for building Level 4 Single Element or Periodic Towers
New Achievements for Chapter 4:
Trebuchets Only: Clear Mission 22 on Hard using only Towers with 1250 Range or more (including Range upgrades)
Splash Defense: Clear Mission 23 on Normal using only towers with 200 AoE or more
Triad of Light: Clear Mission 24 on Normal using only Light, Water, and Nature Elements
Set of Annihilation: Clear Mission 25 on Hard without building a single tower during the last wave
Triad of Darkness: Clear Mission 26 on Normal using only Darkness, Fire, and Earth Elements
Full Support: Clear Mission 27 on Normal using only Buff, Slow, and Damage Amp Towers
Portal Master: Clear Mission 28 on Very Hard without using Infernal Towers
Wizard Prime: Clear all Mission in Chapter 4
Annihilator: Get 4 Stars on every Chapter 4 Mission
Master of Elements: Clear all 28 Missions in the Campaign
Features
4th Co-op Map added: Tundra!
In Campaign, you can now pick up where you last left off, thanks to a new Continue button!
How it works is whenever you reach a Checkpoint (aka every Wave Break), it'll save your progress for that mission, letting you quit the game and later continue where you last left off.
However, you can only hold onto one Checkpoint at a time, so if you try changing to a different mission, it'll warn you that it'll erase your previous Checkpoint.
In Campaign, there is now a Hint Box in the bottom-left corner, which you can toggle on/off. This gives extra insights on the game and tips for specific missions.
New Cosmetics:
New Builder: Master Captain
New Builder: Titan
New Builder: An Actual Duck
New Builder: ???
New Hat: Super Galaxy
New Trail: Nebula
New Trail: Elemental Master
Additionally, some of the high level Cosmetics can now be unlocked by completing certain Achievements. You'll still need to buy them with Shop Points though.
Improvements
When hosting a Multiplayer lobby, the default map is now set to Random Map.
Added a Random Map option to Co-op Mode.
In Singleplayer, the game now remembers the last Mission you were playing, as well as what difficulty.
War Mode now gives you a primer about how the game works during the loading screen.
UI shrunk by about 10%.
Maps now have actual borders and skyboxes instead of the darkness of Fog of War
Switched Tropical Variant out with the second version that shows up in the Campaign, which is a far more interesting map.
Winter Variant is back to 2-Path by default, but its short path moves at 80% speed
Adjusted Advanced Paths for:
Wasteland now speeds up creeps by 20%
Desert paths are asymmetrical
Autumn paths are asymmetrical
Winter paths are asymmetrical
Forest Variant third path no longer pingpongs. Instead, it goes to its own portal at 75% speed.
Winter Variant short path is reversed and moves at full speed
In No Sell Mode, you can now cancel building/upgrading. But once it finishes, you're locked in.
Right-clicking on the Mini-map no longer moves your camera
Geyser bounce has been slowed and looks considerably smoother
Earth, Fire, Bloom & Money Towers now have status icons that track their bonuses.
Removed the In Good Health Achievement from the game, as it no longer exists.
Missions now give you a decent amount of XP when clearing them.
When you clear a mission, it now displays a Mission Cleared message.
Chapter 2 has been made roughly 10% easier
The second half of Mission 11 has been redesigned, it should be much more fair than it was before
The last wave of Mission 18 has also been toned down, particularly the boss
Minor optimization improvements
Bug Fixes
Attempt #63849 on fixing the Ranked Disconnect error.
We're pretty sure we nailed down the exact cause, and we've added some stopgaps that should prevent it. Should.
Coincidentally, fixed the zombie lobby bug.
Fixed a bug where, if you upgrade a tower, then cancel the upgrade, it'd reset your changed target priority.
Fixed a bug where Fire Tower's damage could stop going up and get permanently stuck.
Fixed a bug where Wisp Tower was doing 40% less damage than intended.
Fixed a bug where the VFX of Fast Creeps would flash across the whole map on leak.
Fixed a bug where winning a Co-op game counted as 2 Wins instead of 1.
Fixed checkpoints not saving Damage Overview information.
Fixed manual targeting not overriding your Focus Target setting.
Fixed loading from a checkpoint turning Focus Target setting to off.
Fixed loading from a checkpoint resetting statistics for Towers Built/Sold, Creeps Killed, and Total Interest statistics at the end of the mission.
Fixed tooltips going off-screen,
Fixed hover tooltips vanishing upon clearing the wave,
Fixed Mission 10 Achievement being clearable on Normal Difficulty,
Fixed Geyser's AoE displaying 300 AoE for its standard attack and 0 AoE for its ability (this was purely a UI issue)
Fixed toggling Show VFX off not actually removing the Shoot/Hit effects. It should only be showing projectiles.

DIminishing Returns increased from 6% to 7% per stack

Temporal now has a cooldown of 15 seconds, meaning it can trigger multiple times.
Level 4 Singles & Periodic cost increased from 14000 to 15000.
However, their damage was increased by 20%.

Poison duration increased from 14 to 15 seconds

Infernal Spec 1 reduced from 125 to 100 AoE
Geyser Spec 1 damage is reduced by 25% instead of 30%
Geyser Spec 2 AoE reduced from 300 to 100

0.48 (16.05.20)
0.47.1 (02.05.20): Fixed a major issue where you couldn't find other peoples' games.
0.47 (01.05.20)
Features
Localization has been added! The game now supports the following Languages:
Spanish
German
Dutch
Italian
Swedish
Tower Table filters have been added, among other improvements!
Filters are sorted by Range, and then Support filters.
You can also hover over an Element or Tower to highlight related towers.
We're aware the pop-up info can block some of this and we'll be implementing a fix on this soon.
The Tower Table has also been added to the Main Menu! Additionally, you can preview builds:
Left-click to increase an element's level.
Right-click to decrease the element's level.
Improvements
Further network improvements, as usual.
Lobbies no longer auto-start when they hit 8 Players.
F2 now only jumps between living players.
Duel Mode: Frost Zone now prevents affected towers from being upgraded. Bug Fixes
Attempt number 2 at fixing the mid-game disconnect bug.
If anyone's still running into this, please let us know.
Fixed a bug where trying to kick a player wouldn't actually work.
Fixed a bug where Challenges were locked in at 30 Creeps per Wave, which resulted in certain challenges becoming outright impossible.
Fixed inconsistency in button sounds on the Main Menu.
Fixed the Scoreboard hiding itself when the Game Over Screen popped up.
Fixed a bug where playing on Extreme + 2 Paths caused the number of Ronalds to increase by an exponential amount for each wave that passed.
Duel Mode: Fixed a bug where all lives gained as a result of Life Tower were going to Player 1. Balance
Easy Score Modifier increased from x0 to x0.25
The Speed Score Multiplier will now drop to a minimum of x0.5, instead of dropping all the way to x0.
Leaderboards are not reset as a result of this.
0.46 (24.04.20)
Features
Ronald Run length option added!
Start from Wave 56 with 120,000 Gold, 11 Element Picks, & A Freebie Essence
You have 180 Seconds to prepare your defenses
This is actually submittable to the Leaderboard; however, the Speed Multiplier is set to x1. Between that and 120k Gold, any decent Full length run (or even Extra Short) should beat out a Ronald Run.
Removed the unintuitive "search for game" menu for Duel Mode.
When hosting a game, it lets you host between FFA, Co-op, or 1v1 Duel.
Bug Fixes
Fixed random disconnect errors that would happen mid-game.
When a player leaves in Co-op, it properly decreases the current player count for splitting the bounty.
In-game difficulty score multiplier on Easy properly displays x0 instead of x1.
Fixed a bug where going to the Audio Tab in in-game settings could mess up the UI.
Fixed a bug where Chatbox vanishes twice as fast on Turbo.
Fixed a bug where where "You've won the game" notification would pop-up during Ronalds, even if you ultimately lose. Improvements
You can no longer get randomed Double Interest Upgrades when playing on Easy, Normal, or Hard Difficulties.
Double Interest is only something experienced players are able to take proper advantage of and often screws over new players. If you want Double Interest on Random, start raising the Difficulty.
Further server improvements to reduce pauses.
Lobby List Filters are now hidden by default.
Further optimizations made.
Unfortunately, late-game Co-op is still a lagfest. We'll be addressing this over the coming weeks.
Co-op pre-game time is now doubled, instead of a flat +30 Seconds.
More sounds added/updated, including Lobby Ready Up & Unready.
After typing something in the Chatbox, pressing Enter again will cause it to go away.
On Blacksmith, Well, Trickery, Runic & Astral Towers, after using their abilities, the ability icon now displays the cooldown remaining.
Hotkey page is now up to date.
0.45 (18.04.20)
Features
Co-op Mode added! Up to 8 players join together on a mega map to defend against 8 incoming lanes of creeps!
Starting gold and bounty from creep kills are split evenly between players
Builder movement speed is increased on this mode, allowing you to get around the map faster.
Abuse the buffing powers of Blacksmith, Well & Trickery to empower your allies!
Major Optimizations have been applied:
Any towers making use of that fancy water shader (Water, Well, Wisp, Golem, Flooding, and apparently Blacksmith) have been altered to use a more performant water shader.
GPU Usage has been drastically cut down, thanks to turning off certain settings that didn't really do anything for our game.
Creeps no longer have mesh colliders. We're not sure why they had them in the first place, but if you had lag when there were a bunch of creeps on screen, it should be much smoother now.
Updated the visuals of many towers, particularly their scaling.
Higher level towers have been made a bit bigger. It should be easier to tell them apart from their lower level counterparts.
Updated Sound & Music selection. Improvements
By popular request, pressing 1 now selects the Builder.
F1 will still do this as well.
Pressing F3 will now reset your zoom level.
Alt+Left Click on the Minimap to ping a location.
Scoreboard is now toggled on at the start of the game by default.
Playing on God Mode now prevents you from getting a personal score.
Added a Reset Scores button in settings, which will reset all of your personal scores.
Improved drag-select/drag-build responsiveness.
Duel Mode: Increased search time from 60 seconds to 90 seconds.
Duel Mode: Decreased Lockdown's AoE from 500 to 400.
Duel Mode: Fixed both players showing as Defeated.
Duel Mode: Fixed the winner not getting an Endgame Scorescreen. Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where Periodic could not be cloned by Trickery.
Fixed the crazy visual flare on Arrow Tower when it tried shooting at a creep that was leaking.
Fixed a bug where, even with the builder selected, you couldn't move if you happen to right-click a creep.
Fixed a bug where having the Timescale increased would result in the Game Notification pop-up disappearing that much quicker.
Fixed reported leaderboard score being rounded differently than the score reported in the Endgame Scorescreen.
Fixed elements being slightly offset on the Scoreboard in Multiplayer.
0.44 (11.04.20)
New Map: Temple
It's fairly compact, symmetrical, and features more trees than our actual Forest map. Length-wise, it clocks in the same length as Autumn & Desert, so don't take it lightly! Duel Mode
Both players are in the same area. On one side, your creeps spawn, and on the other side, the opponent's creeps spawn. The goal of this game is to kill the opponent's creeps while keeping yours alive, using both Towers and powerful new Abilities.
When an opponent's creep passes by, your towers will shoot and damage it, just like in the normal game. However, when one of your creeps passes by, your towers will shoot and heal it. On top of competing for build locations, you'll have to constantly adapt playstyle to counter the opponent.
Additionally, you have a pair of two abilities you can use. Each time you use one, you're given a new ability at random after a cooldown. Currently, there are 5 Abilities in the game:
Speed Up: All of your creeps are sped up by 50% for 15 seconds. 90 Second Cooldown
Rejuvenation: All of your creeps are healed by 50% of their Maximum Health. 90 Second Cooldown
Mega Creep: Spawn a Mega Creep from the current wave with 500% Health, which reduces Lives by 5 instead of 1. 60 Second Cooldown
Frost Zone: Decrease the Attack Speed of all enemy towers in an area by 50% for 15 seconds. Also prevents them from being sold. 60 Second Cooldown
Lockdown: Sell and full refund all towers in an area, preventing anyone from building there for 60 seconds. 120 Second Cooldown
In order to play Duel Mode, go to the Duel Mode tab, select your settings, and hit Find Game. Just like hosting a lobby, this'll trigger a Game Notification, prompting anyone to answer your challenge. New Features
You can now play against Bots in Singleplayer!
Up to 3 Bots can be added to your game.
If you're experienced with the game, odds are, you're going to trash these Bots. However, if you're new and relatively inexperienced, it gives you a chance to improve your skills in an offline environment and potentially learn from them.
We'll be improving and expanding upon this feature with each patch.
Interest can now be disabled!
For those of you that want to play the game without buy/sell abuse, you can turn off the Interest and make the game a match of pure knowledge and strategy.
Turbo Mode has been added!
Multiplayer feel too sluggish without access to Timescale Options? Fret not; just turn on Turbo Mode, and force the game's Timescale to x2!
Map Updates
Every Map can now be either 1 Path or 2 Paths!
By default, this is set to 1 Path, even if the map itself supports two lanes.
Kick it to 2 Paths, and single-lane maps change to Purple Portals, while two lanes add a second set of Blue & Red Portals.
Also, this increases the wave timer between each wave by 4 Seconds, meaning it's actually possible to play Extreme on 2 Paths without instantly melting now.
Additionally, the Desert & Winter maps have been updated:
Extra build areas were added to the Desert Map to block off parts of the path creeps weren't really walking on. In addition, the portals have been tweaked such that it's actually symmetrical this time.
The Winter Map has been overhauled with a new layout. Although we want this map to be difficult, the previous layout was unfair to many of the game's towers. With this update, it's still difficult, but it's much friendlier to most builds.
Fixes & Improvements
Further improvements have been made to server stability, resulting in less pauses, reduced input lag, and hopefully no more spontaneous disconnects.
Creep healthbar color changed to red.
Cleaned up Lobby UI.

Pressing it once simply selects your Builder.
Pressing it twice will center your camera on your Builder.
Bringing up the menu in-game now shows you the current game's difficulty and settings.
If you're the last player alive in a Multiplayer Game, the game will tell you that you've won, giving you a prompt to continue playing or exit to the Main Menu.
Camera bounds have been expanded just slightly.
You can now zoom out way further than before.
Beware, zooming out to the new maximum can be performance heavy.
The game's shadows have been improved, particularly at a distance, meaning trees no longer look like garbage when viewing them from afar.
Fixed a bug where failing to host or join a lobby would kill the UI, forcing you to Alt+F4 to get out.
Fixed a bug where players quitting and rejoining a lobby would cause the playerIndex to get screwed over, messing up the game and the replay.
Fixed a bug where you couldn't change sound settings in the Main Menu. Balance
Score Multipliers updated:

Extended the double-click threshold from 0.15 seconds to 0.3 seconds

Features
Game Notifications have been added!
How this works is on the title screen, there's a new toggle in the bottom-left corner.
If it's on, then as long as you're in the menu, playing offline singleplayer, or Challenges, you'll get a notification each time someone hosts a game.
You'll see a pop-up telling you the game's settings. If you accept, it'll confirm if you want to exit your current game, and then if so, you'll instantly join the lobby!
3 New Lava Challenges added!
Escalation
Big Bad Bosses
Duos
Quick Play temporarily removed for now.
It wasn't doing any favors splitting the low playerbase. We'll add it back down-the-road later.

Fixed a bug where left-clicks sometimes wouldn't register.
Fixed a bug where playing on Random would cause it to carry over to Challenges.
Fixed Brightness Slider not doing anything in-game.
Added a Max Channels slider for sounds.
Increasing this may result in a smoother sound experience, but it may also lag your game a bit more.
Solo Online stability improved.
Lobby Region is now listed in the lobby itself.
Improved the lighting on the Autumn map.
0.42.1 (18.03.20)

Shortcuts
Poisoned Forest
Atomized Peninsulas
0.42 (13.03.20)
Features
You can now Click, Hold, & Drag Outwards to build a whole box of towers with a single click!
In other words, your index finger will no longer die after a single game or so of buy/sell abuse.
That dastardly Cross Region option has been nuked from the game!
Thanks to recent network improvements, we no longer need a Cross Region latency option to account for those with lesser internet speeds, which makes searching for games much easier for everyone.
Input lag and the number of server pauses should be reduced from before.
If you're still having problems, please let us know!
New Challenges Added!
3 new Forest Challenges and 3 new Lava Challenges await you in a test of your skills!
A number of previous Challenges were adjusted to make them easier and scale better.
Unfortunately, this did reset progress for most of the existing Challenges. We apologize about that, and we'll try to avoid this in the future.
Updated Forest visuals!
Since release, the Forest map's visuals have been a little too red and not foresty enough. It's now been updated to look much cleaner and easier on the eyes.
Score System
Duration now accounts for the time between the first wave starting a Wave 55 finishing
There is now a Speed Multiplier applied to your Ronald Score, based on your performance up through Wave 55:
On a Full Length Game, you start with a multiplier of x3.5. Every minute, this decreases by 0.05:
If you clear the game in 40 Minutes, you'll have a multiplier of x1.5
If you clear the game in 50 Minutes, you'll have a multiplier of x1
If you clear the game in 70 Minutes, you'll have a multiplier of x0
On Short & Extra Short Modes, these multipliers start lower:
Short: Start with a multiplier of x3
Extra Short: Start with a multiplier of x2.25
Additionally, if you clear through Wave 55without losing any lives, you'll gain a Perfection Bonus, multiplying your score by x1.1
Note, if you lose lives but gain them back through Life Tower, this does not give you the Perfection Bonus

Brightness Slider added!

0.41.1 (06.03.20)
Fixed how the Region Bypass Filter works. You can pry from non-Cross Region into Cross Region, but you can no longer pry from Cross Region to non-Cross Region.
Essentially, if your internet isn't particularly stable, this prevents you from entering games that would cause a spam of Server Pauses.
We're well aware this whole Cross Region On/Off thing is super confusing, so we're looking into alternatives and further improvements for next week.

If your friend is in a Lobby, you can also join them without an invitation. Just open the Steam Overlay, right-click your friend, and hit Join Game.

Added new icons for tower stats.
