REW был написан и протестирован под Windows XP и Windows 7, большинство функций должно работать правильно и на других платформах, которые поддерживают Java Oracle, Runtime Environment, за исключением RS232 последовательной связи (используется только для общения с TAG McLaren Audio AV32R DP и AV192R AV процессорами), которые являются Единственной функцией для платформ Windows. Она также была протестирована под Windows Vista и Mac OS X 10.4 и 10.5 (OS X 10.5 Leopard или более поздней версии).
Описание: REW представляет собой Java приложение для измерения акустики помещений, анализа комнаты и отклика громкоговорителей. Она включает в себя инструменты для: генерации тестовых сигналов; измерения звукового давления и сопротивления; измерения частоты и импульсной характеристики; генерации фазы, групповой задержки и спектральных участков распада, спектрограммы; расчета времени реверберации; Определение частоты и спада резонансных модов и т.д.
Программа способна экспортировать полученные результаты реверберации помещения (Ну или не помещения, если вдруг кому придёт в голову записать реверберацию в лесу например=) ) в .WAV файл для импульсных ревербераторов, а так же может делать фильтр для импульсного ревербератора, который бы нейтрализовал искажения привносимые помещением.
Так же в раздачу включены калибровочные файлы с официального сайта, для измерительных микрофонов и измерительного оборудования Radio Shack.

REW is a Java application for measuring room acoustics and analysing room and loudspeaker responses. It includes tools for generating test signals; measuring SPL and impedance; measuring frequency and impulse responses; generating phase, group delay and spectral decay plots, waterfalls, spectrograms and energy-time curves; generating real time analyser (RTA) plots; calculating reverberation times; calculating Thiele-Small parameters; determining the frequencies and decay times of modal resonances; displaying equaliser responses and automatically adjusting the settings of parametric equalisers to counter the effects of room modes and adjust responses to match a target curve.
